What They Have In Common:
First of all, these are both excellent treadmills. In our opinion they are 2 of the best treadmills in the $1500 price range. So it's hard to go too far wrong.
They both offer high grade construction, strong motors, extra long 60" running belts, 15% incline, free wireless heart rate chest straps and bright, easy-to-read consoles.
They also both come with iPod docks and built-in workouts to help make your workouts more enjoyable. And the warranties are also pretty much the same - with an extra 2 years on service and a lifetime motor coverage.
Where They Differ:
Sole F80:
The Sole F80 has CushionFlex cushioning - which is one of the best systems on the market. This system has been shown in a university study to reduce impact on your joints by 40% (as compared to road running). This gives runners some extra protection.
Also, the deck on the Sole F80 is extremely strong. It can take quite a pounding and should last you for years - even if you run on it.
The Sole F80 also has incline and speed controls on the side handrails, which means you don't have to reach up to the front console, which can sometimes throw off your stride.
Nordic Track Commercial 1750:
The Nordic Track Commercial 1750 is a luxury treadmill that was built to challenge and entertain you. It carries iFit LIVE built in (which means you don't have to buy a separate iFit LIVE module).
With iFit Live you can connect to the wireless internet in your home to track your workout stats over time online, download new workouts and actually map out different routes on Googlemaps. So it can be a lot of fun and if you tend to get bored while you're working out, this is a great tool.
Plus it also includes a 3% decline - which is something you don't find on many treadmills. This can help give your iFit LIVE Google trails a much more realistic feel.
Another bonus is that the 1750 treadmill offers a full-color touch-screen console (the Sole F80 is not multi-color). This means you can actually watch landmarks go by on the screen as you walk different trails all over the world. It's very cool.
Which is the Better Buy?
It really comes down to what you want. The Sole F80 is probably a bit higher on the construction side, with a stronger deck and better cushioning.
However the Commercial 1750 has a lot of toys and workout tools that can help make your workouts more enjoyable and effective. In the end they are both good choices - it really just depends on what you're looking for.
