Quantum Treadmills are not as well known as other brands on the market. They're owned by Quantum fitness which is a company out of Houston.
Quantum fitness has been in business since 1990 and started out mainly making fitness equipment for medical and fitness markets. They then expanded into equipment for health clubs, corporate wellness and the residential market.
Currently Quantum makes 4 different treadmill models the Q-3.0 up to the Q-3.3 with prices starting around $2000 and ranging up to $3500+.
Are they right for you? Here's a quick overview of the strengths and weaknesses of Quantum treadmills:
Strengths:
1) Low Step-On Height
Many models like the Q 3-0 offer a lower step on height than traditional treadmills
This makes it easy to get onto the treadmill, even from a wheelchair.
#2) Extra Wide Belts
Many of the belts on these treadmills are also extra wide (22" wide) which again makes them handy for rehabilitation since you have extra room to move.
#3) Strong Solid Feel
With high user weight capacities (375 lbs and up) and strong stable decks, Quantum treadmills give you a solid feel. Then again, at these price points, you'd expect them to.
#4) Decent Motor Powers
Starting around 3.0 HP and up, Quantum fitness treadmills come with decent sized motors. These give you enough power to run the extra large belts.
Weaknesses:
There are several weaknesses with this brand. First of all, at this price point, they don't give you as much for the money as even some lower priced brands.
For example the Q-3.0 ($2200) has a 3.0 HP motor, max speed limit of 10 MPH, a max incline of 12% and a 10 year motor warranty. Now compare this to the Sole F85 ($1999) with a stronger 3.5 HP motor max speed limit of 12 MPH, 15% max incline and a lifetime motor warranty and you'll see how the Quantum treadmill falls short.
Plus the Quantum treadmills are not as well known as other commercial brands and can be very difficult to find. There are few long-term reviews on these treadmills so it's hard to say how they'll hold up over the long run.
Conclusion: Not Recommended
While Quantum has years of experience in the fitness equipment industry, it's hard to recommend their treadmills. While they have some decent features, they don't offer as much as even lesser priced brands.
They also have very short warranties, considering the price point. All, in all, we don't think they offer you good value.
