Proform Treadmill Review
Proform is the most recognized name in treadmills today. They’ve been around for years and come out with new models each year.
Proform is a subsidiary of ICON Health and Fitness, one of the largest fitness equipment manufacturers in the world.
The advantage to this is that they have the resources to make a better treadmill for less. So if you’re on a budge but still want a decent treadmill, they’re worth considering.
They’re also starting to add in some new fitness toys to their machines – like iPod docks, extra workout programs and even a web browser on their latest models.
Please Note: Some of these prices are limited time sales – prices may change at any time.
#1) Low Prices
Starting around $599 and up, one of the best things about Proform is that they’re affordable if you don’t want to spend a lot on your treadmill.
If you want a motorized treadmill for a budget price, you really want to go with a large, experienced company that has the resources to build a better treadmill for less like Proform.
#2) New Performance Series of Treadmills
These models have stronger motors and better cushioning than past models. There’s even a built-in web browser on the Performance 1450 treadmill!
So if you’re looking for a bit more substance to your treadmill without spending thousands more, these are great options.
3) iFit Live
Many of the newer models come with iFit LIVE, which uses the wireless Internet in your home to connect your treadmill to the Internet. From there you can run trails all over the world using Google maps or track your fitness activity online.
You can also download new workouts to your treadmill from celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels where she coaches you through your workout.
Basically iFit LIVE adds a whole new dimension of things you can do with your treadmill. You’ll never get bored with all of your workout options.
#4) Fold Up To Save Space
Most Proform home treadmills fold up easily to save space in your home. Most come with some kind of gas-shock assist mechanism which does the heavy lifting for you – so you can save the strain on your back.
If anyone has the resources to build a better budget treadmill for less, it’s Proform. However some models offer better value than others.
The older, cheaper models you find kicking around in stores often are not the best in terms of construction – or warranty.
Any treadmill under $800 in general is not the best choice for runners or heavy use (long hours of running or multiple user families). While you can definitely find some ‘gems’ in the Proform lineup, if you want a more solid, sturdy machine, look for newer models with strong motors, high user weight capacities and solid cushioning systems.
Proform’s strength is in making quality starter treadmills for under $1000. They have more resources and experience to build a better treadmill for less than any other brand out there.
Plus they come with some great ‘bells and whistles’ like iFit LIVE, iPod docks, heart rate monitors and lots of workout programs that can make your workout more enjoyable.
Keep in mind that these machines won’t give the feel or construction quality of a commercial machine. However if you’re looking for some of the best value budget treadmills on the market, Proform is worth checking out.
Where To Buy And Save:
You can skip the middleman and buy Proform treadmills direct from the Manufacturer. As of this writing they’re offering Free Shipping which will also save you about $150.
