Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill
The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill is the most affordable model in Proform's 'Pro' series of treadmills.

The Pro series are a higher end series from Proform with the addition of some unique toys to give you more of a workout challenge.

For example, in addition to the high 15% incline, you also get a 3% decline which can help you crosstrain different muscles.

The Pro 2000 also comes compatible with iFit LIVE. iFit LIVE connects your treadmill to the Internet. From there, you can download new workout programs to your computer, use Googlemaps to map out new trails or run famous trails all over the world, track your workout stats over time and more.

Strengths:

1) Run Trails All Over the World With iFit Live

If you have wireless Internet in your home you can connect the Pro 2000 treadmill to the Internet. It's powered by Googlemaps and Google terrain so that you can run or walk different trails all over the world. You can even map out your own course.

You can customize and download your own workout programs and workout with Jillian Michaels from 'The Biggest Loser' - where she coaches you through your workout through the console speakers.

You can also track your activity and nutrition online and even download new daily workouts. So you'll always have a new challenge.

2) 3% Decline

In addition to up to 15% incline, you also have the option to decline with this treadmill, which is something you don't find on most machines.

This can give you a better crosstraining workout, more variety and also it lends a more realistic feel to when you're walking a trail using the iFit LIVE.

3) iPod Port With Speakers Built Into the Console

You can listen to your favorite workout mix by plugging your iPod or MP3 player into the console.  The music comes out of the console speakers (which on this treadmill use 3" high-excursion drivers - giving you better sound clarity than many other treadmills with speaker systems)

4) Heart Rate Monitor with Wireless Chest Strap

You can easily monitor your heart rate with either the hand grip sensors or using the Polar Wireless Chest Strap (which is included with the treadmill.) Many people prefer the chest strap since it seems to give more accurate results.

5) 24 Built In Workouts

If you don't want to use iFit Live you still get lots of workouts. You can choose from 24 different workouts, each with a different focus: high intensity, speed, incline or calorie-burning.

7)  Lengthy Warranty with 2 Years On Service

The warranty on the Proform Pro 2000 treadmill is one of the best in the industry. You get lifetime coverage on frame and motor and 5 years on parts. Of special note is the 2 years on service. This can end up saving you a lot of money should something go wrong with your treadmill.

Weaknesses:

If you don't have wireless internet in your home, you won't be able to get full use out of the iFit LIVE. Also be aware that the iFit module is sold separately with this treadmill.

Also, while the Pro 2000 treadmill is the most affordable Pro model in the series, for a few hundred more you can get the Pro 2500, which carries a full color screen, stronger motor and iFit LIVE built in (you don't have to buy the extra iFit module like you do with the Pro 2000).

Overall Conclusion:   Recommended

If you're looking for a stronger treadmill with a softer price tag, the Proform Pro 2000 treadmill is worth considering. You get some good basics like a strong 3.25 HP motor, extra long 60" belt, specialized cushioning system, folding ability with safety lock and heart rate monitor. This is all covered by one of the best warranties in the business to protect your investment.

Plus, if you like a challenge, you'll always keep busy with iFit LIVE, running trails and downloading new workouts. And the decline feature can help you crosstrain different leg muscles.

While it doesn't carry the bells and whistles of higher end Pro models like the Pro 2500 it is the most affordable and a great value buy.
