The Proform 350 treadmill is one of the most economical options from Proform - one of the most well known names in the treadmill industry.
Currently priced at $399, the Proform 350 is affordable for the home exerciser on a budget - but is it really a good buy for you?
Here's a quick review to help you decide:
Treadmill Stats:
Price: $399 (Regular $599)
Motor: 2.25 THP Mach™ Drive Motor
Speed: 0 -10 MPH
Incline: 1.5 -10%
Treadbelt: 17 x 50"
Folding: Yes
Strengths:
3 year motor warranty - This is a decent motor warranty for a treadmill under $400. However be aware that there is only a 90 day warranty on all other parts and labor.
Personal Calorie Counter - See how many calories you're burning while working out. It's a handy feature to have as some people like tracking their workout progress this way.
EKG Grip Pulse Sensors - Track your heart rate and stay in your target heart rate range while working out.
Positive User Review - Although there is only 1 opinion we could find of the Proform 350, the buyer did give it 4 out of 5 stars and especially liked the affordability and the fact that it folds.
Weaknesses:
Not Suitable for Runners or Heavier Users - With only the basics, a 250 lb weight capacity, economy cushioning and parts, the Proform 350 is definitely not suitable for runners or heavier users. You just can't build a high quality, superior cushioned machine for this price.
If you're 200+ pounds or plan on using your treadmill to run, protect your joints and back by investing in a solid, stable treadmill with quality cushioning and high-power motor.
Economy Treadmill - While the price is a definite strength because it's affordable, it is also a weakness because no one (even Proform) can build a highly stable, sturdy, well-cushioned machine for this price.
Again - if you're concerned about your back, hips or joints, you'll want to get a highly stable, quality cushioned treadmill like a Sole.
No Workout Programs - With no workout programs this is a very basic treadmill. Don't expect the workout luxuries that come with other treadmills.
Extra Small Walking Area - With a 17 x 50 inch walking area, this is one of the smallest walking areas on the market today. It will not suit the taller walker or the runner (you'll constantly worry about falling off the treadmill).
Overall Conclusion: Not Recommended
It's great to find a treadmill at this price that actually works and doesn't break down after 3 months. However again, this is the most basic of basic treadmills.
It is definitely not for heavier users and runners. We have concerns about the cushioning, lack of warranty, lack of workout programs and extra small walking area.
A treadmill is an investment in your health so if you could afford it spend a bit more and get a machine that will give you a higher quality of support.
Where To Buy:
If you decide to buy the Proform 350, you can save money by buying it direct online. You can save money on store markup, shipping and sales tax.
They also have a financing option and special closeout deals.
