Trimline Treadmill Review

A Review of Treadmills by Trimline
Trimline treadmills used to have a great reputation in the industry.  They started to fade in popularity as other brands entered the market and Trimline seemed to stagnate.

Trimline is now owned by Nautilus - who also own names like Bowflex and Schwinn.

There are rumors that Nautilus is thinking of discontinuing the Trimline lineup to focus on their other brands.

But what about the treadmills themselves - are they a good buy for you? Here's a quick review to help you decide.

Strengths:

Good Warranty - These treadmills tend to be covered by a fairly decent warranty. Many offer 10+ years on the motor and 30+ years on the frame. Not bad, but a bit outdated as newer brands like Sole have overtaken them with lifetime motor warranties.

Stable Feel - Many user reviews have consistently commented on how stable their Trimline is.  The unit weights and weight capacities are high, especially on the higher end models, so this makes sense.

Positive User Reviews - The user reviews we did find were quite good. Keep in mind however that these are mainly on the older models.

Weaknesses:

While Trimline gives you an excellent core machine, they are still pretty bare bones.  They don't give you a lot of workout extras - like workout programs, iPod/Mp3 hookups, advanced consoles, etc.

For a mid-priced treadmill you really would expect this - and you do get it with many other mid-priced brands like Nordic Track or Sole.

Also, without much behind the brand and rumors of it possibly being discontinued, you may want to look at a more solid brand.

Conclusion:

While Trimline used to be a solid, stable, well-built treadmill in years past, compared to similarly priced treadmills today, they are only mediocre.  They are hard to find and it's our guess that the line is pretty much done.

There are other current treadmill brands like Sole or Nordic Track that give you better value for your money: longer warranties, higher motor powers, Mp3 hookups with speakers, advanced consoles and excellent cushioning.
