Proform 7.5 Treadmill

A Review of the Proform 7.5 Distance Trainer Treadmill
The Proform 7.5 Treadmill is one of Proform's newest 2008 treadmill models.  It's affordable and offers some unique features not usually found on an economy model.

With a 2 user fitness journal tracker, the Proform 7.5 is especially suited to those people who want to track and log their progress. Often, seeing how far you've come can inspire you to go even further.

It also offers 20 built-in iFit workouts, 4 customizable workouts and 4 Distance Training Workouts (5K, 10K, half-marathon and Boston Marathon training).

Is this a good fit for your workout needs?  Here's a quick review to help you decide:

Strengths:

ifit® Fitness Journal - This is good for up to 2 users and lets you generate daily, weekly, monthly and yearly fitness reports

iPod/Mp3 Dock with Speakers - You can plug your iPod or MP3 player into the built-in audio jack and listen to your favorite music or audiobooks while you workout. This is another great feature to have that can make your workout go by faster.

20 iFit Customizable Workouts - Each workout features ifit® training technology and customizable workout settings, so you change workout to better fit your needs. Plus you also get 8 more workouts including 4 Distance Training Workouts: 5K, 10K, half-marathon and Boston Marathon training workouts.

Excellent Warranty - This is one of the best warranties on an economy treadmill and a vast improvement over older Proform models. You get lifetime coverage on the motor and 2 years parts and service (The extra year on service is currently a bonus offer and may not last long).

Grafixx™ Display - The console on this treadmill is really bright and easy to read. The console can also visually display your heart beat or an animated figure walking, jogging or running through your workout with you.

12 MPH Speed Limit - It's rare to have a speed limit this high for a treadmill under $1000 - so rare we thought it was worth mentioning. Most treadmills at this price point only give you up to 10 MPH. People who want to really push themselves will appreciate this feature.

Weaknesses:

While there are some great features on the Proform 7.5 treadmill, this is still an economy treadmill so it's not going to give you the construction found on a commercial machine.

At this price point there are other brands like Sole that give you a higher grade of construction and cushioning.

Overall Conclusion:

The Proform 7.5 Distance Trainer Treadmill is an improvement over older Proform models.  The Fitness Tracker with fitness journal it allows you to track your progress - which can be very encouraging when you see how far you've come.

Plus you also get a higher 12 MPH speed limit, iPod/Mp3 hookup with speakers, customizable and distance training workouts as well as a great warranty - with 2 years covered on service.

It's still not recommended for running or heavier usage. Plus at this price point, it does face some heavy competition from brand like Sole.
