Strengths:
iFIT® Challenge Training Center - This is one of the most unique features about the Proform 7.0 Crosstrainer. It has a built-in fitness assessment, which gives you month-long training programs - including weight-loss workouts, cross-training workouts and 3 separate meal plans (1400, 1800, 2200 calories).
Plus you also get 24 Crosstraining workouts and 9 Personal Trainer-designed workouts which will keep pushing you to the next level. Overall, there's a lot to do with this treadmill.
Roomy 20 x 55" Belt - This is a decent sized belt for a treadmill at this price point. Many economy treadmill belts are around 18" x 52" so it's great to have some room to move.
Decent Motor Warranty - Although there are better motor warranties out there, for this price point, 12 years is quite good and much better than the older Proform motor warranties.
Adjustable Cushioning - Cushioning is important as poor cushioning can damage your back, hips, knees and ankles. The ProTech 3 cushioning system reduces impact on your joints up to 33%, as compared to road running.
Adjustable cushioning is also a nice feature for multiple treadmill users as some people prefer a softer feeling deck and others prefer a harder surface.
Weaknesses:
While the Proform 7.0 Trainer has a lot of great things going for it, it's still an economy treadmill and not recommended for runners or heavier users.
Overall Conclusion:
If you're on a budget but still want a challenging workout, the Proform 7.0 Crosstrainer is a great buy - especially at this price. It's a step up from other Crosstrainer models with better cushioning, an upgraded motor and more user programs.
The built-in Fitness Assessment can help keep you on track to your weight loss or fitness goals. If you get inspired by being on a program and seeing how far you've come, this may be the ideal tool for you.
Overall, the 7.0 is still not recommended for runners or heavier users. But it's still a great economy value with some fitness tools you won't find anywhere else.
