Strengths:
1) 40% Incline & 6% Decline
The X9 gives you up to 40% inclines. (Most treadmills offer inclines of 10-15%). Incline walking forces your muscles through a greater range of motion and you can burn up to 5X more calories (walking on a 40% incline) as compared to walking on a flat incline. This means faster results and a more toned body in less time.
Plus you also get 6% decline which helps you work different muscles and get a better overall workout. The decline also gives you a much more realistic feel when you run trails using iFit LIVE and Googlemaps to run different world trails.
2) 10" Full Color Touch Display with Web Browser
The X9 comes with a 10" wide full color Google Android web browser built into the console. So you can surf the net, read emails or catch up with your Facebook friends while you workout. This is one of the coolest innovations to come along in a while and will definitely keep you busy while working out.
3) IFit LIVE Built-In
If you have wireless internet in your home, you can use this to connect the X9 incline trainer to the Internet. It's powered by Googlemaps and Google terrain so that you can run or walk even more trails all over the world.
You can customize and download your own workout programs and workout with Jillian Michaels from 'The Biggest Loser' - where she coaches you through your workout.
You can also race against your Facebook friends, track your activity and nutrition online and even download workout videos.
And it comes already built in - the older version of iFit LIVE required you to buy a separate module. So it's nice to get it free and built-in to the console here.
4) Longer 62" Belt
The main problem with many incline trainers used to be that they had short belts. So if you were taller or wanted to run on them, you could easily feel that you were falling off the treadmill.
But the X9 remedies this problem in a big way. It comes with a monster 62" long belt, one of the longest belts on a treadmill or incline trainer. So if you're taller or would prefer to run, you can easily do it on the X9.
5) 44 Built-In Workouts
If the iFit LIVE and Web Browser aren't enough for you, there's also a whopping 44 built-in workouts with the X9 including calorie based workouts, incline workouts, intensity-based workouts and more.
Weaknesses:
There really isn't a weakness here. However if you don't have wireless internet in your home, you won't get full use out of the wireless browser or the iFit LIVE.
Overall Conclusion: Highly Recommended
The Nordictrack X9 is the ultimate incline trainer with all the bells and whistles including a full web browser, iFit LIVE, tons of workout programs, heart rate training center with wireless chest strap and more.
Nordic Track has added a bit more substance to it as well so it feels more stable and solid than past models (with a higher 350 lb user weight capacity). And the longer belt with longer warranty will also give you a lot more value for the money. Overall an A+ machine.
