The main strength is the Reflex Deck cushioning. This is one of the best cushioning systems on the market right now and if you're concerned about protecting your knees, hips, back or ankles, this system is one of your best options.
Although taller users or frequent runners may want to upgrade to the Apex 6500 which offers a stronger motor, iPod / mp3 dock, and higher speed limit, overall the Apex 4500 is a great treadmill value at this price point.
