Horizon Fitness treadmills are produced by Johnson - a well known name in the business. They are the 4th largest maker of fitness equipment in North America.
Horizon fitness treadmills are generally economy to mid-priced treadmills and they usually pack a decent value into the price.
However at this price point there is a lot competition. How do they stack up? Here's a quick review to help you decide.
There are high levels of cushioning where your foot hits the belt and firmer cushioning where you push off.
3) Folding - Most Horizon machines fold with wheels on the bottom for easy transport. Many also use shock assisted folding mechanisms for easier folding.
4) Attractive Consoles with Speakers - Most Horizon consoles have attractive, easy-to-read consoles.
You can get built in fans and the new models also come with an mp3 hookup and built in speakers. While this is becoming a fairly standard feature in treadmills, it's still nice to have.
5) Solid, Stable Feel - When we tried out several Horizon tread mills we found they gave a solid, stable feel, even when you pick up the pace. While it's not a health club feel, we were still impressed.
Conclusion:
Horizon is a popular treadmill, and it's not hard to see why. With a lot of excellent customer reviews, attractive sleek consoles, solid feel and strong motors they pack a lot of value into the price.
The newer models (T83, T84) give you more in terms of goodies (speakers, fans, mp3 jack) than the older models.
Strengths:
1) Positive Horizon Treadmill Reviews - Although Horizon fitness treadmills don't top many 'Best Buy' lists, they do rate fairly well.
The Horizon T20 for example was a Consumer Guide 'Budget Buy' (The model has since been discontinued - a comparable model is the T73 ).
Also, users at Amazon rate them very well, averaging about 4 stars out of 5. Plus, unlike some brands, there are a lot of user reviews - which gives the high ratings more credibility.
2) Variable Cushioning - Horizon home treadmills use a variable cushioning system. This means there are different levels of cushioning at different points in the belt.
