Strengths:
1) Up To 12 MPH Speed Limit - This is definitely worth a mention as most treadmills at this price point only give you up to 10 MPH speed limit. While you may not want to test the limits that often (since this isn't necessarily a frequent runner's treadmill), it's still nice to have.
2) Large 20" x 55" Belt Gives You Extra Room To Move - This is a fairly spacious belt and will give you lots of room to move. It's also one of the larger belts at this price point.
3) Bright LED-Window Backlit Console - This one of Horizon's most advanced consoles - and our favorite Horizon console this year.
The Blue Backlit windows make it easy to track your workout stats - even if lighting in your workout area is limited.
It's well laid out and simple to navigate with the emergeny stop button within easy reach. The built in console fan is also a nice touch to keep you cool.
4) iPod dock with Built-In Speakers - While this is becoming a fairly standard feature, it's still handy and can make your workouts a lot more enjoyable. You can plug in, charge and play your iPod or Mp3 through speakers built into the console.
5) Variable Cushioning - The T93 uses a variable cushioning system. This means there are different levels of cushioning at different points in the belt.
There are high levels of cushioning where your foot hits the belt and firmer cushioning where you push off. This can make for a more comfortable workout - and can help you work out longer and burn more calories.
6) 14 Workout Programs - This includes goal-based programs (time, distance, calories) or terrain-based programs (manual, hills, intervals, weight loss). You can even create up to 2 of your own customized workouts and tailor them to your personal fitness style.
Weaknesses:
The T93 is a sleek, solid affordable treadmill from Horizon. But it's still an economy treadmill and probably not best for heavy or aggressive use. Runners or heavier users may want to step up to a Sole with stronger decks, higher powered motors and longer warranties.
Overall Conclusion:
The T93 packs some decent value into a small price. It's built to be more rugged than lower end Horizon units with a stronger base, higher user weight capacity, thicker belt and more advanced user programs.
It gives you more in terms of speed limit and incline than many other treadmills at this price point offer. And the iPod deck with speakers can also make your workouts a lot more enjoyable.
While it's probably not suitable for frequent running, if you're looking for strong alternative to the ICON brands (Proform, Weslo, Image), the Horizon T93 treadmill is good value.
