Stengths:
2.25 HP Commercial Motor - This is a decent motor power at this price point. Plus it's covered by the 10 year motor warranty which is very good and gives you some peace of mind about the heart of your treadmill.
Spacious 20 x 55" Treadbelt - Again, at this price point, this is a great belt size. Many economy treadbelt sizes are around 18" x 52" so while this isn't the biggest belt, it's still more spacious than many other economy models.
6 Personal Trainer Workouts, and 2 Heart Rate Programs - Six Personal Trainer workouts automatically adjust the speed and incline of your treadmill during your workout. Two "Heart Rate" workouts help you stay in your target fat burning zone by adjusting the speed up or down based on your heart rate.
Weaknesses:
While this is definitely an affordable treadmill with some solid basics, we would have liked to see a longer parts warranty (it's only 90 days) and a few more goodies included.
While there really isn't anything inherently wrong with the Epic 450, when you compare it to other similarly priced treadmills, it does fall short in terms of what you get for the money. For example, similarly priced Nordic Track treadmills give you higher incline and speed limits as well as better warranties.
Overall Conclusion:
The Epic 450 MX treadmill is one of the most affordable Epic treadmills on the market. And it does give you some solid core basics like a decent motor power, sizeable treadbelt, good cushioning, heart rate monitor and several built in workout programs.
If you really like the Epic name (and many people do), you may be very happy with the Epic 450 Treadmill.
It does fall down a bit in terms of warranty. And those who don't really care about the Epic name may want to look at similarly priced Nordic Tracks first which have better warranties and higher speed and incline limits.
Where To Buy:
You can save on store markup and shipping on the Epic View 450 when you buy direct from the Epic closeout store. They've got some great discounts and you may also save on sales tax.
